It began with Biden’s disastrous debate against Donald Trump, followed by a series of gaffes on the global stage. The public has been carefully watching Biden for signs of cognitive decline, of which there have been plenty. First, the media began to cover stories highlighting Biden’s failing cognition, with commentators questioning Biden’s ability to serve for the first time. Then, people within Washington began publicly questioning the president’s capacity to serve. Major donors and celebrity backers also turned against Joe Biden. The narrative shifted in mere weeks.
Biden was firm in his stance that he would not drop out of the race. He then said he would consider stepping aside if a health issue presented itself, followed by announcing he fell ill with COVID-19. I suppose that the vaccine he publicly received did not protect him. He is also isolating, although it is no longer a requirement. One liberal journalist said that a bullet could not stop Trump, but a virus was able to stop Joe Biden. Polls have already begun circulating to gauge how the public would feel if they swapped Kamala or Hillary for Biden.
A new AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found that only 30% of Democrats are confident that Biden is fit to serve, down from 40% in February. Overall, 70% of Americans surveyed are asking Biden to step aside. Only 28% believe Biden would be able to handle a crisis, but his presidency has shown he does not have the ability to do so. In that same survey, 60% of Democrats believe Vice President Kamala Harris would be a suitable president, with 22% in disapproval.
I believe the Democrats have always planned to swap out Biden for Hillary. However, I am unsure if they realized how quickly they would need to make that switch. Reports state that top Democrats within the establishment, like Pelosi and Schumer, have told Biden that his time has come to an end. “The speaker does not want to call on him to resign, but she will do everything in her power to make sure it happens,” the Washington Post published regarding Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a longtime supporter of Clinton. No one has come out to dispute these claims.
Can anyone remind me—why does Trump need a new VP pick in the first place?
Anything involving the former one not going along with his coup attempt?https://t.co/ANJJnezsIr pic.twitter.com/EK3DIgNDEh

Former Hillary Clinton campaign spokesperson Karen Finney has been vocal in the media this week. “Voters see us as losers,” she said regarding the Democratic Party under Biden. “One of the things, though, that I think, we’re in a cycle where Democrats – it’s becoming a life-fulfilling prophecy,” she said, adding, “The more we talk about how afraid we are of losing instead of how we’re going to win, voters are seeing us as losers.” Then Hillary Clinton appeared on media outlets globally to bash Trump’s vice president nominee, J.D. Vance. She claims that Trump was forced to pick a new vice president since Mike Pence did not go “along with his coup attempt.” She double-downed on Vance denying the results of the 2020 US Presidential Election, despite Clinton long questioning the results of the 2016 election in which she LOST.
The latest reports say Biden is “receptive” to dropping out of the race, but he doesn’t have a choice. The Democrats want to spark confidence back into their party and understand that Kamala Harris will be unable to fulfill that role. It is only a matter of time before the news outlets reveal that President Joe Biden has dropped out of the race.
