Market Talk — May 6, 2016

A couple of rumors and some nerves ahead of the all important US Non-Farms Payrolls. In mainland China there were rumors that local regulators may want to delay mainland listings of mainland US listed Chinese companies. We will follow-up on this rumor when we hear more information. Shanghai index closed down 2.8% and the Shenzhen B closed down 3.6%. Europe traded sub-par […]

Market Talk May 5th, 2016

A relatively quiet night in Asia with China PMI (51.8%) marginally under the April  52.2% reading. Although this had a short-term influence just ahead of lunch but it really did not alter the bounce and we closed the session marginally better. Hang Seng however, was lower on the day closing down 0.37%, which actually was not a bad […]

Why the Quantity of Money Theory is DEAD Wrong

COMMENT: Bill Gross says you are wrong and helicopter money is coming and the Fed should print trillions to buy government bonds. Any comments? Market Talk — May 3, 2016

A morning where PMI’s (Purchasing Managers Index) continue to rule the markets. The RBA surprised the markets with a 25bp cut in rates to take key rates back to 1.75%. […]

QUESTION: Mr. Armstrong; I have to admit after following you for almost 2 years now I am impressed. I was a buyer of your first gold report where you introduce me to the idea of different types of cycles from fixed to variable and your benchmarks. I have been amazed that gold bottomed to the week […]

Are The Markets Creating a Huge False Move For the Next 2 Years?

We will do a brief video update tomorrow on the general state of the markets given we have elected Monthly Bullish Reversals in several currencies. While we have been looking for the euro to reach 116, we have now clearly extended the sideways rally given that the major low for last year took place in […]

QUESTION:  Dear Mr. Armstrong, Re: The Ted Cruz/John Kasich Conspiracy and your comments about the Constitution and USC In your opinion, might it be a crime to deny registered independents the right to vote in a primary? Pennsylvania, one of only 11 states remaining with this law, is a prime example. Thank you for a […]

Market Talk — April 27, 2016

With the exception of Australia, last night saw a fairly dull session ahead of the FED and also the BOJ decision expected tonight. All core indices were negative but within a normal range given events scheduled later. In Australia however, consumer prices dropped well below market forecast and shook both the ASX (Aussie Stock market) […]
